For the time being, old MESS can be compiled using "SUBTARGET=mess" while older MAME (arcade only) can be made with "SUBTARGET=arcade". As a result, MESS links here will likely only be available up to 0.161 with anything beyond expected to be obtained at the MAME link. Please Note: In all source release versions starting with 0.162, MAME is a binary which consists the entirety of source (including the former MESS project). Download these if you can't or don't wish to build MAME and don't mind waiting for the next release date to see progress.
